Quality ISO 9001 & DIN EN 15038
Intertranslations' Internal Quality Assurance is based on two facets:
- ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance
- DIN EN 15038 translation services standard
Translation process and quality standards
The translator is responsible for transferring the meaning of the source language into the target language, in order to produce a text in accordance with the structural rules of the target language and the instructions received during the project assignment.
In addition to client-specific rules, Intertranslations' own quality assurance standards are also taken into account. These are known as "Translation Standards" and are binding for all translators. The translator is responsible for the quality of the translations and is required to observe the following: terminology consistency, compliance with the proprietary or client style guide, adherence to grammatical rules, overall consistency, language register, local conventions and regional standards and formatting, in order to achieve the objective of the translation.
Assurance of a quality co-operation
Translation and proofreading training takes place at the beginning of each and every major project. Throughout the project, translators are encouraged to interact and co-operate with other team members, such as the project manager, the language supervisor, the technical supervisor, proofreaders and other translators.
Intertranslations organizes team meetings to resolve terminology issues with the company language supervisor or with the client’s linguistic contact person for approval. Co-operation with the client’s co-ordinators during projects is of primary importance in resolving any linguistic issues and in optimizing the services provided. Please note that the glossary created in the context of a given project is available online.
